Apparently no names have surfaced to challenge Rep. Cantor, Va., for spot in GOP leadership. Cantor has been making calls to friends and supporters and all indications are pointing towards approval for Cantor to assume the role.
Apparently no names have surfaced to challenge Rep. Cantor, Va., for spot in GOP leadership. Cantor has been making calls to friends and supporters and all indications are pointing towards approval for Cantor to assume the role.
Roy Blunt said he would step down after Tuesday night’s results when the GOP lost 19 house seats.
Cantor, 45 years old, is a prolific fund-raiser and is viewed as a rising star as a conservative and reform minded leader. His abilities and and record prompted the McCain campaign to consider him as a vice-presidential contender earlier this year.
This is a good sign that the GOP is realizing that the party lost relevancy and its ability to articulate its ideas and beliefs. A new ground game must ensue to reverse the negative trends affecting the GOP.
Exit poll data showed that voters calling themselves Republicans dropped to 32% Tuesday from 37% in 2004, while Democrats showed growth to 40% from 37%.
It is plainly obvious that Republicans have lost the dialogue with the American people. A bold new direction under new leadership is a must and this is a great start.

Problem with Cantor and his type they are the ones' who have grown up in a Republican dominated era, they don't know how to maneuver in a hostile environment where they aren't in charge. I only hope his a quick study, they need Congressional leadership ASAP!
